This Ain’t Yo Mama’s Ideal Client Class!
You finally got some clarity on your business. You slaved, you sweated, you cried and went for counseling and you can now confidently say that you know what it is you are going to do in the world.
You are happily growing along at whatever it is you found that makes your soul sing: coaching, art-making, soul reading, hand + heart holding… But something isn’t right, something isn’t running as smoothly as you’d think this Soul Singing Work should. And when you bought the books, joined groups, and signed up for all the best biz classes you discovered that your What isn’t the only thing you need to get clear on -you also need to know who your WHO is!
Enter the Ideal Client Work
And if you thought figuring out your What was hard work… oh baby… Anyone know what you did with that counselor’s phone number?
There’s all kinds of Ah-Mazing stuff out there for starting to separate and pin down who your ideal client is. And it’s great stuff, it really is. I should know, I’ve cried and stormed and begged and temper-tantrummed my way through piles of it.
It’s thought provoking, it gets your wheels turning, it asks you to examine what’s going on in your biz and who makes your soul sing. It forces you to be specific and realistic; practical and a lot curious too. (That’s why we’re going to have some of that in this class too.)
But I tell you, this is some hard shit. I have been witness to many a (and even had my own) breakdown – crying and wailing and gnashing of teeth – brought on by trying to dig deep into this work. It’s hard, but it’s also essential.
Knowing your Who means direction, it means clarity, it means more referrals, it means the power of focus, it means the difference between calling someone directly vs. dropping 100 bottles in the ocean and hoping someone picks one up.
It may even be possible (hold onto your hats here) that your Who is more important than your What!
But, the truth is it feels immensely difficult to narrow down your Who. How do you know who your right people are? And if you think you might have spotted them (over there in the corner, all hovering around that lava lamp), how can you begin to figure out what their problems are and why they’d really want to hire you? And what if those are the wrong peeps? I mean, how do you even know? (No wonder so many of us end up crying and walking away from this work.)
During this one-day intensive class we’ll be picking up right where all those other Ideal Client exercises ended. I’ll hold your hand (how I wish I’d had someone to hold my hand while I was figuring this stuff out) and together we’ll walk through the Ideal Client front and into the idea of your Soul Client.
Your Super Sidekick: Your Soul Client
Every S’Hero has a sidekick; your sidekick is someone who stands with you and enables you to fulfill your mission in the world. In the comic book world sidekicks are cheerleaders, hand holders, pointer out-ers of the obvious (for when we can’t see the forest through our own trees), and the peeps who always have our Heroes’ backs.
As an entrepreneur you might think you aren’t in the business of having a sidekick. You might have Masterminds and like-minded circles (aka your Super Hero Team: Avengers, HO!) but a sidekick?? Not so much.
But I say Nay Nay.
You DO have a sidekick. You do have people who cheer you on. Who constantly remind you of your mission and show up to help you fulfill it in the world. You have people who teach you the lessons you would have missed otherwise and people who always have your back in this big, bad world of business.
Your Clients.
And not just your clients, but your Soul’s Clients.
When you work with the people you love to serve, the ones who get you all revved up and passionate and excited. The ones you can’t help falling in love with. They get so much more from you, but you get a thousand times back from them. They aren’t just the people who pay you to do your work, they are the people who make it possible for you to fulfill your Soul’s Mission in the world – and inevitably, they become your biggest cheerleaders.
When you work with your soul clients everyone walks away lifted. And if you ask me, that’s the way work should be.

Oy! I’ve totally been there with her and I’ve got a whole new, wild and crazy, super hero-ish idea:
What if we didn’t do it that way anymore?
(I know, I’m a revolutionary.)
It’s hard to try and imagine what that other person is thinking, feeling, what they need and want, and why they are stuck there, and why they would want you to be the one who helps them. Because I mean, really, how can you be sure? Which is why most of us use ourselves as our ideal client model: Been There, Done That the marketing scheme. But are you your Soul’s Client?
Are you sure about that?
What if I told you that you didn’t have to guess (or cry or wail or gnash your teeth) anymore? What if I told you that I could use what you already know about yourself, your work, and your ideal client and using the Universal Pattern of the Five Elements (Ancient Chinese Philosophy for the win!) to not just take the guessing out of it but to also give you a glimpse right into the soul of your soul’s client.
Soul to Soul
Nine Star Ki (say ‘key’) and the Five Element Theory are ancient tools, based on the science of pattern observation, that allow me to do my Soul’s Work of empowering people to move in the world from their place of power: who they are on the most innate level. These tools work to reveal someone’s Soul Pattern and after thousands of years of development and application they have almost limitless insights to reveal about what makes a person tick.
In my day to day work I use these tools to help my clients tap into and maximize their innate strengths, to better understand the gifts they (and only they) can bring into the world, to keep an eye out for (and work with) their shadow side (what you might call their weaknesses) and how to find and create what they need to feel fulfilled in life.
